Immersion Cooling Fluid DC 15 is a synthetic hydrocarbon-based dielectric coolant developed specifically for electrical and electronic cooling systems.
Combining effective heat transfer with low viscosity, excellent dielectric properties and long-term fluid stability, DC 15 provides a purpose-developed cooling fluid for high-performance data centre immersion applications.
Available from DC Cooling Solutions, official partners and distributors of Castrol ON advanced thermal fluids.
In single-phase immersion cooling, servers and electronic components are submerged directly within a non-conductive dielectric fluid.
The fluid absorbs heat directly from the hardware before circulating through a heat exchanger, where that heat is transferred into the wider data centre cooling infrastructure.
This places particular demands on the fluid.
It must provide effective heat transfer while maintaining electrical insulation, material compatibility, fluid stability and safe operation over extended periods.
Castrol ON DC 15 has been developed specifically for this environment.
Effective heat transfer
DC 15 combines proven thermal properties with low viscosity to support efficient circulation and heat removal from high-performance electronic components.
Low viscosity
Low viscosity provides excellent flow characteristics and pumpability, supporting efficient coolant circulation through the immersion cooling system.
Excellent dielectric properties
DC 15 provides the electrical insulation required when cooling fluid is in direct contact with energised electronic components.
High oxidation resistance
The fluid is formulated to resist oxidation and degradation, helping maintain performance throughout its operating life.
Excellent hydrolytic stability
High hydrolytic stability helps the fluid maintain its properties under demanding operating conditions.
Material compatibility
DC 15 has been tested for compatibility with a wide range of elastomers, plastics and metals used within immersion cooling systems.
Material compatibility should always be confirmed against the specific materials used within the installation.
High flash point
A high flash point supports safe operation within demanding electrical and electronic cooling environments.
Immersion Cooling Fluid DC 15 is designed for use in single-phase electrical and electronic immersion cooling systems.
Within data centres, applications can include:
For a wider overview of immersion cooling architecture, fluid requirements and DCCS support:
In an immersion cooling system, the dielectric fluid is in continuous direct contact with electronic hardware, cables, seals, plastics, elastomers and metals.
Compatibility therefore needs to be considered as part of system design and fluid selection.
Castrol has undertaken extensive material compatibility testing for DC 15. However, the exact grade and composition of materials used within an individual system should be verified before deployment.
DC Cooling Solutions can support fluid selection and compatibility considerations as part of the wider immersion cooling project.
Immersion cooling fluid should not simply be filled and forgotten. Contamination, fluid degradation, particulate material or changes in fluid condition can potentially affect thermal and dielectric performance over time.
DC Cooling Solutions provide specialist support throughout the fluid lifecycle, including:
This allows operators to monitor and manage the condition of a fluid that is operating directly alongside critical IT hardware.
DC Cooling Solutions are official partners and distributors of Castrol advanced thermal fluids.
DCCS combine DC 15 with specialist knowledge of dielectric fluids, thermal management and data centre cooling systems.
From initial fluid selection and deployment through to monitoring and long-term fluid management, DCCS provide technical support throughout the operating lifecycle.
