Data Centre Cooling Solutions

Immersion Cooling Fluid DC20

Advanced single-phase dielectric cooling fluid for high performance data centre immersion cooling.

Immersion Cooling Fluid DC 20 is a synthetic hydrocarbon-based dielectric coolant designed specifically for electrical and electronic cooling systems.

Combining low viscosity with excellent thermal performance, dielectric properties and long-term fluid stability, DC 20 provides an advanced cooling fluid for demanding single-phase immersion applications.

Available from DC Cooling Solutions, official partners and distributors of Castrol ON advanced thermal fluids.

Engineered for single-phase immersion cooling

In single-phase immersion cooling, servers and electronic components are submerged directly within a non-conductive dielectric fluid.

The fluid absorbs heat directly from the hardware before circulating through a heat exchanger, transferring that heat into the wider data centre cooling infrastructure.

This requires a fluid capable of delivering effective heat removal while maintaining electrical insulation, material compatibility and stability over extended periods of operation.

DC 20 is engineered specifically for this environment.

Why DC 20?

Effective heat transfer

DC 20 provides excellent thermal properties to support efficient heat removal from high-performance CPUs, GPUs and other electronic components.

Low viscosity

Low viscosity provides excellent flow characteristics, supporting efficient fluid circulation and heat transfer throughout the immersion cooling system.

Excellent dielectric properties

DC 20 provides the electrical insulation required for a fluid operating in direct contact with energised electronic hardware.

Superior oxidative stability

The formulation is designed to resist oxidation and degradation, helping maintain fluid condition and performance throughout its operating life.

Excellent hydrolytic stability

DC 20 provides strong resistance to degradation in the presence of moisture, supporting long-term fluid stability.

Low-temperature performance

Strong low-temperature characteristics provide flexibility across a wide range of operating conditions.

Material compatibility

DC 20 is compatible with a wide range of materials used within immersion cooling systems, including commercially available elastomers.

Compatibility should always be confirmed against the specific materials and components used within the installation.

Fluid compatibility matters

In an immersion cooling system, the dielectric fluid operates in continuous direct contact with electronic components and the materials surrounding them.

Fluid compatibility therefore needs to be considered alongside thermal and dielectric performance when selecting an immersion coolant.

DC 20 has been developed for compatibility with a wide range of materials used within electrical and electronic cooling systems.

The specific metals, plastics, elastomers, seals, cables and other materials used within an installation should nevertheless be considered as part of the specification process.

DC Cooling Solutions can support fluid selection and compatibility considerations for new and existing immersion cooling deployments.

Maintaining dielectric fluid performance

Immersion cooling fluid forms an integral part of the cooling infrastructure and its condition should be monitored throughout its operating life.

Contamination, particulate material or changes in fluid condition can potentially affect both thermal and dielectric performance.

DC Cooling Solutions provide specialist support including:

  • Fluid selection and specification support
  • Pre-commissioning and commissioning
  • Fluid handling and filling
  • Fluid sampling and laboratory analysis
  • Fluid condition monitoring
  • Filtration and contamination control
  • Fluid remediation
  • Fluid replacement
  • Ongoing technical support

This enables fluid condition to be measured, monitored and managed rather than simply assumed.
